We’re looking for a Compositing Supervisor to join us.
Elephant Goldfish is a Dublin based post and VFX studio working across film and high-end TV. We’re a new studio, led by people who’ve done this a long time and as part of the Molinare Creative Group, it means we have a base in both Ireland and the UK.
Our current slate includes features across a variety of genres including horror, comedy, period and thriller and returning streamer episodic. In our first year, we’ve delivered a couple of features for Blumhouse, including Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, Hardacres a period drama series and Charli XCX’s The Moment, and we’re currently on a streamer series, a range of features, and another drama series with one of the world’s foremost production companies. And we’ve built a beautiful, friendly working space in our docklands studio.
We spent our first year building carefully and getting the foundations right. A lot of what we’ve done so far is invisible-work, integration, not spectacle: set extensions, stunt comps, matte paintings, environments, CG integration, gore, beauty work, shots that only work if they hold up as real. Now we’re stretching, growing the pipeline, broadening the slate, taking on bigger creative challenges. That’s where you come in.
As Compositing Supervisor you’d lead the comp on our work: setting the standard, running the team. You’d have a real hand in how the comp department and pipeline take shape, building ours, not inheriting someone else’s. For the right person there’s room to grow into a VFX Supervisor role, but a comp supe who’s happy being a comp supe is exactly who we’re after. You’re someone who can run a project, keep a team calm and pointed in the right direction, and sense-check a bid without drama.
We’re looking for someone who:
- leads comp at a high level both creatively and technically and has plenty of experience running a team through a show
- is comfortable and fluent with all things colour and colourspace and working closely with pipeline
- is good with production and clients, supports bidding and planning and is steady when things get tight
- uses AI and ML tools where they earn their place and has a healthy curiosity and creative interest in this space
- brings people on. Your team gets better around you.
The role is ideally Dublin-based and in-studio, so a willingness to be here counts for a lot, but we’re of course open to hybrid or remote for the right candidate. You’ll need the right to work in Ireland or the UK, and we’re always glad to hear from our friends in the EU.
